Story List

Hello traveler, let me tell you a tale from this land of sufficiently advanced magic (that it is indistinguishable from technology).  There was a man by the name of Jim who lived in the city of Ud.  He was dashing and handsome and did everything right.  Growing up, he became well known as a hero who protected Ud from many nasty beasts and bothers, like trolls, witches, and the ever so occasiuonal dragon.  The name of Jim Dragonslayer spread like wildfire.  He was so great that he was boring, so we obviously won't be focusing on him.  Instead, we cast our gaze on his Younger brother Mick.  Where Jim had been outstanding, Mick was mediocre in almost everything.  The only thing Mick could possibly compete with his brother in was freestyle humming, and even then, Mick lost half the time.

Now Mick, despite the Jim-shaped shadow he lived in, also took up the job of slaying monsters, that is, the job of Monster Subjugator.  While Jim was out hunting wild bear-liches on the highlands of Thatom Kul, Mick would be out In farmer Mark's pastures dealing with a particularly vicious strain of dire rats.  Needless to say, Mick also found his name spreading, what with his famous brother and all.  All across Ud, the name of Mick Goblin Hunter was heard, and his exploits told over pints of beer and raucous laughter.  These are a few of the stories they tell, lasting just as long in the public consciousness as his brother's tails of heroism.
